The judges at Exhibition Park Raceway had a busy day on Saturday (Sept. 21) with half the day's races involving winners placed first.

Union Man Hanover appeared to win the feature event of the card, the $1,500 Winners Over Pace after driver Todd Trites employed a ground-saving steer to win in 2:00. However, Union Man Hanover was found to have left the course in the stretch and was thus placed fourth. That placing allowed runner-up Bugger Max and driver Mark Haig to have their photo taken despite not being first across the wire.

Trainer Gordon White co-owns Bugger Max (Believeinbruiser - Spurs Galley) along with Dale Orr of Saint John, N.B. The nine-year-old pacer picked up his 23rd lifetime win in the process and pushed his bankroll over the $120,000 mark.

Haig pulled off the harness racing rarity of winning two races without ever crossing the wire ahead of his rivals. He was also second placed first in the sixth race of the card when winner Pickpocketprincess was set down for causing interference to the field while on a break. Haig and second-place finisher Real Bigg inherited the win in the $1,300 event.
