Grand Slam For Severus Hanover
Severus Hanover pushed his winning streak to four-in-a-row by virtue of a front-stepping score in Friday’s $8,500 Preferred 3 for trotters at Grand River Raceway.
In rein to Alfie Carroll, Severus Hanover motored to the lead from Post 4 and successfully whacked out fractions of :28.2, :58.3 and 1:28 before using a :29.4 closing panel to win by three-quarters of a length over Dominum Deo in 1:57.4. Kris Me Goodnight took home the show dough.
Richard Moreau trains the eight-year-old gelding for the love of his life, Cheryl Moreau, and co-owner Shaun MacDonald. The eight-year-old son of Explosive Matter-Sorbet Hanover went winless in 16 starts last season, but he’s bounced back to assemble a 6-3-3 record from 24 trips to the track. The 18-time winner has banked over $156,000 to date.
