World Record For Stage Show

Stage Show grabbed 'centre stage' for driver Tom Jackson in Tuesday night’s Open II Trot at Pocono

Downs.

The four-year-old mare won the $22,000 trot in a World Record time of 1:53.1. She came into the race 0-for-17 but put in a solid effort from the pole position. Stage Show broke the previous mark of 1:54, which was set by four-year-old mare Toms OK Lady in 2007.

Stage Show, who was sent off as the 6-5 favourite, left quickly from the rail and sat third for the first half of the contest. Our Last Photo sliced out splits of :27 and :55 before giving way to Stage Show. Jackson angled Stage Show to the outside and she blew by Our Last Photo to take the nine-horse field of trotters to the three-quarters in 1:24.1. She used a 29-second final frame to post the impressive tally for trainer Jim Campbell and owners Arlene and Julies Siegel of New Hope, PA. Broadwaylonghaul was second and Dink Adoo was third.

Last season, Stage Show won nine of 16 races and earned more than $394,000. She is quickly closing in on $500,000 in career earnings.
