Clinton, Hanover To ‘Go Exotic’
This weekend, Clinton and Hanover Raceways are inviting patrons to take a walk on the wild side and explore exotic wagering. The payout could be more than just a few dollars, too.
The two rural Ontario tracks will be giving away a $1,500 travel voucher, ideally to be used somewhere exotic. Guests who attend Hanover on Saturday (Aug. 17) and Clinton on Sunday (Aug. 18) can enter any non-winning exotic wagers (exactor, triactor, superfecta, etc.) for the chance to win the grand prize, sponsored by Robert Q Travel in Clinton, Ont.
Each track will draw qualifiers to be entered into the grand prize draw following the card at Clinton on Sunday.
"We did something similar back in the ROMP (Racetracks of Ontario Marketing and Promotions) days,” said Jessica Carnochan, marketing manager at Clinton. While the group is now defunct, it was a wildly successful promotion. It makes sense to work together on something like this, offer it to all of our patrons."
Saturday evening at Hanover will also feature the Balanced Image eliminations, Grey/Bruce Paraplegic Association 50/50 draw, the Ontario Federation of Agriculture Night, and Chuckles the Balloon Artist will be trackside for the kids. Post time is 7:15 p.m.
Clinton's Sunday afternoon card also invites all ladies out for a special Ladies’ Day promotion, including drink specials and giveaways on the Super Sunday Show. The Vanastra Curling Club is hosting their Day at the Races Fundraiser with a barbecue, 50/50, bake sale and silent auction. Post time is 1:30 p.m.
More details and contest rules and regulations can be found on both tracks’ respective websites: www.hanoverraceway.com and www.clintonraceway.com.
