With the post time favourite and elim winner Parlay (Doug McNair), along with I Wont Dance (Trevor Ritchie) and Zero Boundaries (Ross Battin) all making early breaks from the inside post positions, Equity claimed the lead from Post 4 with Jack Moiseyev at the controls and cruised through panels of :29.2, 1:00.1 and 1:30.1.
As the 7-2 third choice entered the stretch, he was faced with a challenge from Breewood Gingo (Trevor Henry), who set a the track record for sophomore trotting colts in his elim last week. Breewood Gringo moved three-wide around Winning Mister (Brad Forward) at three-quarters and pressed the leader at the head of the lane, but Equity was able to kick away by two and a half lengths with a :29.3 final frame to win in 1:59.4 over a track rated ‘good’.
Breedwood Gringo was second and longshot Magic Spice (Kevin Wallis) finished eight lengths back in third.
