Track Record Lowered After 21 Years
On Saturday afternoon (July 20) at the St Joseph De Lepage racetrack in Quebec, two track records were rewritten in the Quebec Regional Fair races.
The all-age pacing record was lowered to 1:55.4 by Ninoscredit, who had driver Samuel Fillion aboard. The prior record of 1:56.1 was set 21 years ago (7-26-98) by Golden Seat. Ninoscredit reset the record in the first of a two-heat race and he won the second heat in 1:58.2.
Then, the track’s one and a half-mile record for pacers was lowered by Mister Big Top, who won in 3:00 for driver Michel Audet. The previous record of 3:01 was set by Our Star on 7-29-14.
Of the ten races on the program, six were sub-two minute miles.
