Lady Neigh Neigh Takes Century Open
Lady Neigh Neigh jumped up to the Open Fillies & Mares class Saturday afternoon at Century Downs, and she had little problem taking care of business for driver Brandon Campbell.
It was a perfect two-hole trip for Lady Neigh Neigh in the $9,000 featured affair, while Scardy Cat supplied the early speed. Scardy Cat sped through first-half fractions of :27.4 and :56.3 before being attacked by Lady Neigh Neigh on the way to the three-quarter pole.
Lady Neigh Neigh accelerated quickly and took over command while racing parked past the third station in 1:25. She then used a :29.1 closing quarter to win by 1-3/4 lengths over Scardy Cat in 1:54.1. Taking home third prize in the six-horse tilt was Big Shir.
Sent off as the 1-2 favourite, Lady Neigh Neigh posted her second straight victory and her seventh of the season from just nine attempts for trainer Christopher Lancaster. The three-year-old daughter of Bettors Delight-Santinos Rosa, who pushed her lifetime earnings over $100,000 with the win, is owned by Lancaster and partner Christopher Lambie.
