Ask Ron Waples Your Questions
Standardbred Canada is reviving its Ask Me Anything video series for a special one-on-one interview with harness racing legend Ron Waples.
Inducted into the Canadian Horse Racing Hall of Fame in 1986 and the U.S. Harness Racing Hall of Fame in 1994, Waples boasts one of harness racing's most accomplished resumes. He's one of the few drivers that can lay claim to wins in million-dollar editions of the North America Cup, Meadowlands Pace and Hambletonian as well as a Triple Crown, in addition to victories in the Cane, Messenger, Maple Leaf Trot, Kentucky Futurity, Jugette, Hambletonian Oaks, Woodrow Wilson, Canadian Pacing Derby, Prix d’Éte and nine Breeders Crowns.

Among the horses that padded and added to his 6,923 career victories and $75 million in earnings: Ralph Hanover, No Sex Please, Presidential Ball, Dream Maker, Village Jiffy, Armbro Dallas, Sugarcane Hanover, Park Avenue Joe, Fake Left, Sportsmaster, Oaklea Count, Delphis Lobell and JM Vangogh.
Known for his sharp wit and ability to tell a tale as well as he could drive a horse, Waples remains a popular figure off the track at events like the Hall of Fame Trot in Goshen and the biennial Legends Day event in Clinton.
Members from SC's Communications Dept. will be conducting an interview with Waples later this week, and we're asking fans and SC members what questions they would ask the Hall of Famer. Send your question(s) to SC by completing and submitting the following web form by Wednesday, July 17 at 7:00 p.m.
Questions without a name and valid email address will not be considered. Submission of a question does not guarantee it will be used.
