Ken Houston Memorial Set For Sunday
Former NHL’er Ken Houston will be honoured this Sunday at Dresden Raceway with a race in his name.
The seventh race is named after the gritty winger who played nine seasons in the NHL, including six 20-goal campaigns with Atlanta, Calgary, Washington and Los Angeles.
Houston, who passed away in March 2018 after a battle with cancer, was a fixture at Dresden Raceway and always took a minute to chat hockey, horses or life with fans or friends.
This past winter, the arena in Dresden was re-named the Ken Houston Memorial Arena. Several former teammates of Houston will be in attendance for the day.
Cayo Loco is the 2-1 morning line favourite for the Houston Memorial.
Sunday is also “Food Truck Day” at Dresden Raceway with several different food trucks coming to the track including pulled pork, BBQ, gyros, ice drinks and more.
Post time for the first race is 1:30 p.m.
