On Sunday (July 7) at Clinton Raceway, the Andrew McCabe-trained and Doug McNair-driven Significance ($7.50) utilized a strong first-over move to capture the $64,900 final of the Kin Pace in 1:56.4.

The 2019 edition of the Kin Pace, which had been carded as Race 10 on the afternoon program, featured a field of seven three-year-old pacing fillies that were Ontario-sired and non-winners of $50,000 in purses during the 2018 season.

Significance and McNair lined up in Post 4 and went on to watch from the pocket as Freya Seelster (who was driven by James MacDonald) cut the opening quarter in :29.2.

So Much More (Trevor Henry) wasted no time at all, as she was out and gunning for the lead early, which she wrestled away from Freya Seelster early in the second panel.

So Much More went on to click off the half-mile clock in :58, and it was in the third panel where McNair and Significance made their move.

McNair, who was cognizant of the outer flow developing behind him, tipped out from third with a burst and jetted overland. The duo was in hot pursuit of So Much More by the time the three-quarters clock flashed to life in 1:27.2.

It was all Significance from there on in, as the daughter of Mach Three sped through the lane to nail the wire in 1:56.4.

So Much More held on for second and the Travis Cullen-driven Dreamfair Zenfire converted a second-over tow into a third-place finish.

Significance has now won nine of her 10 starts this season for owners Glenview Livestock Ltd, (of Wallenstein, Ont.) and Cheryl Cherry (Guelph, Ont.). The bay filly did not make a pari-mutuel start last year at two.

The lion’s share of the Kin Pace purse has pushed Significance’s career bankroll to $76,305.
