Six For Dowling At Red Shores

A perfect two-hole ride sealed the way to victory for Noudidnt Blue Chip in the featured event and capped off a six-win performance by driver David Dowling on Sunday afternoon (June 23) at Red Shores at Summerside Raceway.

In the $2,800 featured pace, Adkins Hanover (Ambyr Campbell) went to the front and controlled the race with splits of 29.2, 1:00.4 and 1:29.3 while fending off a first-over advance from Woodmere Ideal Art (Norris Rogers). Dowling sat pretty in the two-hole with Noudidnt Blue Chip for the duration of the race, until he powered up to a neck decision in 1:58.3. Adkins Hanover was second, while third went to Pictonian Storm (Myles Heffernan Sr.).

Noudidnt Blue Chip is owned and trained by Neal Moase.

That feature win was one of six visits to the winner’s circle for Dowling. He started off the day capturing the first five dashes before his feature win in race nine. The action started as he steered The Devils Cut to a 2:02 victory for Chris MacKay, and then won with Bugtown Superstar in 2:02.2 for Brian Walsh. Woodmere Oleksiak romped by nine lengths in race three in 1:58.3 for Dowling and trainer Earl Watts. Trainer Elton Millar of Tyne Valley supplied Dowling with his fourth and fifth wins of the day, as Ramset overcame an early break to win in 2:01.3 then Twice As Bright cruised to victory in 1:58.4.

Live racing continues at Red Shores with the Future Stars of 2019 taking place Monday evening (June 24) at 6 p.m. at Red Shores Charlottetown.
