Final Call For Summer Mixed Entries

Tattersalls Sales Co. reminds horsemen and women that the catalog for the Summer Mixed Sale is ready to close, so entries should be submitted to the sales company or with one’s agent as soon as possible.

The sale will be conducted at the Meadowlands on July 14, the Sunday following the track’s premier night of racing that includes the Meadowlands Pace and seven other major stakes.

“With this being the last sale of the year at the Meadowlands, I’ve had a lot of interest not only from those with interest in selling, but also from buyers who are making plans to replenish their stables for the fall meets,” said sale manager David Reid.

The Summer Mixed will feature horses of racing age, from two-year-olds to older performers, and as Reid points out, “anything racing with current success always gets the most attention. Buyers are eager for horses to drop in the entry box the following week.”

The sale has traditionally been successful in recruiting mid- to upper-level racehorses, thanks in part to owners and trainers reducing numbers to create cash flow and make way for fall yearling purchases.

“Just like with real estate, it’s a seller’s market right now,” Reid said. “But buyers are willing to step up and pay for the right house and the right horse.”

Horse may be entered on the Tattersalls website, tattersallsredmile.com, or by calling (914) 773-7777.
