Run Director Romps
Taking on Graduate Series foes last week at Woodbine Mohawk Park was a tough way for O’Brien Award winner Run Director to start off his four-year-old season, but after that tough loss he rebounded with a facile score in a Monday evening overnight assignment at the Campbellville, Ont. oval.
Run Director, named the nation’s Three-Year-Old Trotting Colt of the Year in 2018, shot right to the lead in Monday’s $25,000 assignment, and after carving out panels of :29, :57.4 and 1:26.2 the son of Kadabra-Keep The Spirit kicked home in :29 to defeat Free Willy Hanover by 4-1/4 lengths in 1:55.2. Muscles For Life was third.
Ben Baillargeon trains the homebred for Tom and Elizabeth Rankin of St. Catharines, Ont. It was the seventh lifetime tally for the career winner of $448,505.
