Shuffled to fourth after taking the early lead, Morning Shadow poured through the Lightning Lane to capture Wednesday’s (June 5) feature at The Meadows, an $11,800 conditioned pace for fillies and mares.

JK Kissntell took the point from Morning Shadow, thwarting a number of challengers but never enjoying a breather. Morning Shadow and Dave Palone pounced on her in the lane and scored in 1:56.1, a head better than Eleanor Jean. Sewonandsewforth earned show.

Chris Oluvic trains Morning Shadow, a three-year-old daughter of Shadow Play and Fan For Life, and owns with Steven Busching. Palone collected two wins Wednesday while 10 other drivers scored single victories on the 12-race card.

Live racing at The Meadows resumes Saturday (June 8), when the Belmont Day program features a $168,074 Pennsylvania Sire Stakes for three-year-old pacing fillies as well as a trio of carryovers — $4,166.94 in the Pick-5 (races 2-6), $2,050.65 in the Pick-4 (races 3-6) and $491.44 in the final-race Super Hi-5. Post time is 11:25 a.m.
