Charlottetown Preferred To ‘Quest’
A group of six was recruited for Saturday’s top class at the Charlottetown Driving Park, and fans watched Rose Run Quest front step to a 1:54.4 score for trainer/driver Marc Campbell.
Rose Run Quest shot to the lead from Post 5 and successfully whacked out fractions of :28.2, :57.1 and 1:26.3 before using a :28.1 closing quarter to win by three-quarters of a length over Doctor Royal. Euchred was third.
Sent off as the odds-on favourite, the seven-year-old son of If I Can Dream-Letmedowneasy is now 3-for-5 in 2019 for local owner Blair Hansen.
Innocent Kiss rallied to a narrow win in the $2,800 Fillies & Mares Open for driver Adam Merner and trainer Melissa Rennie.
Merner got away third with Innocent Kiss while Ramblinglily motored to the lead and led the group through panels of :28.4, :58.4 and 1:27.4. Sodwana Bay put first-over pressure on the leader in the late stages of the mile, with Innocent Kiss tracking that foe’s cover. Innocent Kiss stormed home in :28 to win by a neck over heavily favoured Sodwana Bay in 1:56. Ramblinglily faded to finish third.
Max Roderick Sehl and Adam Merner share ownership on the four-year-old daughter of Westwardho Hanover-Im A Debutant. She’s put together a 2-1-1 record from five trips to the track this season.
