Charlottetown Feature To ER Quinn
Even-money favourite ER Quinn miscued early and then suffered interference in Thursday’s $2,600 feature race at the Charlottetown Driving Park, but he managed to recover and pull one out of the fire en route to posting a 1:57.3 victory for driver Gilles Barrieau.
ER Quinn watched Winter Blast roll the field through fractions of :28.2, :57.4 and 1:28.3, before tracking that foe down in the closing strides. The gelding prevailed by three-quarters of a length over I C True Grit, with Tempo Seelster taking home third prize.
Orwell Bay Stable of Orwell, PE owns the seven-year-old son of Total Truth-Electric Cam Queen. He hangs his harness bag in the barn of trainer Jeff Holmes.
Marc Campbell posted a three-win performance on the training front, and he tacked on another catch-driving victory to post a four-win performance in the bike.
Winning from Campbell’s barn were Arc Light (1:59.2), Freddie (2:03.1) and Jetster (1:59.2). He also guided the Vaughn Doyle-trained Scott Out Of Here (1:59.4) to a victory in Race 3.
