Sintra Sizzles To Seventh Straight
It’s now seven starts and seven wins to start the season for Sintra, who toyed with the six foes he faced in Saturday’s $34,000 Preferred Pace at Woodbine Mohawk Park.
Fresh off a 1:50.1 score in last week’s edition of the class, Sintra got away third in Saturday’s assignment for driver Jody Jamieson while Dr J Hanover shot to the top and laid down fractions of :27, :55.4 and 1:23.4. Sintra came first over as the field headed into the final turn, and after eyeballing Dr J Hanover he motored away from that foe and the others in the lane. It was a 1:50.2 winning effort for Sintra who defeated Jimmy Freight and P L Jackson.
Stephanie Jamieson trains the six-year-old son of Mach Three-Dancin Barefoot for Michael Guerriero, Kelly Waxman, Nunzio Vena and Frank Cirillo. The 25-time winner has stashed away more than $1.1 million to date.
Century Farroh earned a new speed badge of 1:51.3 in an $18,000 conditioned event for the duo of driver Sylvain Filion and trainer Dr. Ian Moore.
The three-year-old son of Mach Three-Beachy Girl, who is listed at 45-1 in TROT Magazine’s 2019 Pepsi North America Cup Spring Book, came first over on the odds-on favourite Fast N First (55-1 in TROT Magazine’s 2019 Pepsi North America Cup Spring Book) in the late stages of the mile and then used a :27.1 closing quarter to edge past that foe by a half-length margin.
After going 0-for-6 to start his rookie season, Century Farroh finished his two-year-old campaign with four straight wins including his 1:53 triumph in the $50,000 OSS Grassroots Final. He is owned by Ratchford Stable NS of North Sydney, NS. He’s banked more than $75,000 to date.
