Horsepeople who race in Ontario are advised that a standards-based race-day medication ban put in place by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) is in effect as of Friday (April 19).
Aside from horses treated with Lasix in accordance of the Ontario Lasix program, the rule will prohibit the administration of medications, drugs and substances to any horse entered to race within 24 hours of the first post time of the day they are scheduled to race.
