Georgian Downs’ 2019 Meet Preview
The 2019 racing season at Georgian Downs is fast approaching, and officials with the track would like to share some important information and changes for the upcoming season.
Effective Saturday, May 4, the track at Georgian Downs will open for training from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. The training schedule will increase in 2019, as an additional training day will be added throughout the summer. The track will be open for training each Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon for the duration of the racing season.
Qualifiers will be conducted on Saturdays at 4:00 p.m. from May 25 through August 24.
“We are very excited, preparing Georgian Downs for another exciting race season,” stated Georgian Downs GM Chad Gates. “It’s nice to showcase our racing facility in Innisfil. We take pride in the condition of our facility and racing surface. There is always a buzz around the live racing at Georgian Downs. In 2019, we will continue to host a number of Ontario Sires Stakes throughout the summer months, providing the race fans with some exceptional racing and entertainment.”
The Earl Rowe Trot will be the highlight of Georgian’s racing season this year and will be contested on Sunday, August 18. This season, Georgian will be including its very popular Family Day as part of the showcase event.
Post times for 2019 will remain the same: Sundays at 6:00 p.m., Tuesdays and Saturdays at 7:15 p.m.
