Monticello NYSS Late Closers Contested
Three $12,500 divisions for two-year-old pacing fillies in the New York Sire Stakes late closer program were presented at Monticello Raceway on Wednesday, September 30 and Its Only Roni’s 2:00:2 victory was the fastest in the trio.
Its Only Roni, a daughter of Nobility--Theoneandonlyroni, easily subdued five other rivals when Jimmy Marohn, Jr. sent her to the lead from Post 2. The duo made every pole a winning one en route to a three-length triumph.
The non-betting split was offered prior to the wagering card. Its Only Roni, who is owned by Frances Feel and trained by Joe Robbins, Jr., paced her last half in:57:4 to score her seventh win in 12 starts.
Notoriety Hanover won her split in 2:02:2 and the other division went to Rock N Amber in a time of 2:00:4.
