Officials from the Maritime Provinces Harness Racing Commission have informed Trot Insider that a silent stallion auction is taking place in support of the Stretch Drive Fund and the Atlantic Provinces Bursary Fund

The Stretch Drive Fund is a project of the Maritime Provinces Harness Racing Officials which was established to help address the needs of individuals and families involved in the harness racing industry in the Maritimes provinces that have fallen on hard times for various reasons.

The Atlantic Provinces Bursary Fund is awarded each year to deserving students whose families are involved in harness racing in the Maritimes.

Anyone interested in placing a bid may contact Kingsley Walsh at 902-855-2489 or the MPHRC office at 902-836-5500. Bid sheets will also be available at the HRPEI race office in Charlottetown, the Atlantic Classic Sale in Crapaud, PEI on October 9 and at the NSPE Select Sale in Truro, NS on October 23.

The auction closes on October 23, 2009.

Stallions involved in the silent auction are Brandons Cowboy (pedigree), Strong Clan (pedigree) and PJs Nabby (pedigree).
