Bookend Bombs At Mohawk Park
If you got to Woodbine Mohawk Park early on Thursday and stayed late, you had a chance to haul home some pretty serious cash thanks to the efforts of a pair of major upsetters.
Hello Chipper erupted for a 41-1 upset in the opener for trainer Rachel Andrew and driver Travis Cullen. The mare enjoyed a ground-saving trip most of the way before firing home in :28.1 and lighting up the toteboard. A $2 win ticket on her nose kicked back a healthy return of $84.80.
Musselsfrmbrussels had a similar trip in the finale, and the veteran pacer rallied home in :27.2 for driver Bob McClure en route to posting the 27-1 shocker. Richard Moreau recently took over the training on the 11-year-old son of Modern Art. A return of $57.10 for a $2 win ticket is hardly the type of return you’d expect to be getting on a classy campaigner that has managed to bank in excess of $770,000. The pacer’s next victory will be the 50th of his career.
