Anniversary Coolers At Plainridge
Members of the Harness Horseman’s Association of New England (HHANE) that will be racing at Plainridge Park may be going home with a special anniversary award as the season gets underway.
In celebration of the 20th year of racing at Plainridge Park, HHANE will present anniversary coolers to all winning horses in the Plainridge Park winner’s circle during the opening week of the meet (starting April 8).
“We felt it was important to not only recognize our winners this first week of the racing season, but we also wanted to acknowledge the 25 years live harness racing has been enjoyed at Plainridge,” said Bob McHugh, president of HHANE.
HHANE recently negotiated a seven-year contract with Penn National to continue racing at Plainridge Park in Plainville, Massachusetts.
HHANE members from throughout the country will be racing at Plainridge in 2019 during the 108-day racing season which kicks off with a 4 p.m. post time on Monday (April 8). Trainers, drivers, and owners are eligible for active HHANE membership, which includes such benefits as sulky insurance, third party insurance and lodging discounts.
A newly added benefit for trainers and drivers offers the option to participate in a retirement savings plan. An associate membership is also available and open to anyone wishing to support harness racing in Massachusetts who is not a licensed trainer, driver, or owner.
