Bettor Ops N Best At Mohawk
Carmen Auciello trainee Bettor Ops N bolted off cover turning into the stretch and hit the wire narrowly in front of a late-charging Rock This Way to win the $24,000 featured pace at Woodbine Mohawk Park on Saturday, March 2.
Go West Go Fast gunned to the top heading to a :27.3 opening quarter and continued to speed heading toward a :55.3 half. Mongolian Hero N, sitting third, tipped first over while Bettor Ops N entered the flow second over and Rock This Way from third over. Go West Go Fast soon met Mongolian Hero N spinning around the final turn and lost the lead by a 1:24.1 third quarter.
Mongolian Hero N took the lead into the lane as Bettor Ops N fanned off cover and edged towards the front. Rock This Way also fanned wide and surged after the new leader nearing the line but came a head short in the 1:52 mile and settled for second. Brodys Scrapper, riding the rail, rallied for third.
A seven-year-old gelding by Bettors Delight, Bettor Ops N won his 12th from 51 starts and surpassed $100,000 in earnings. Jonathan Drury drove the $4.20 winner for owner Stephen Klunowski.
