Preferred Hat Trick For B Yoyo
The winning streak is now three-in-a-row and counting for classy trotter B Yoyo, who used his closing skills to perfection in Monday’s $34,000 Preferred Trot at Woodbine Mohawk Park.
Sent off as the 8-5 favourite in the Monday evening main event, B Yoyo got away fifth in the six-horse affair while Cue Hall shot to the front and fired the opening quarter in :28. Free Willy Hanover charged first-over in the backstretch, but couldn’t clear Cue Hall as they blazed by the half in :56.4.
That battle raged on to the three-quarter pole in 1:25.1, and it was a battle that took its toll on those two. B Yoyo swung to the outside going to the three-quarter pole for driver Louis Philippe Roy, who then used a :28.3 closing panel to post the win by three-quarters of a length over Buzz in 1:54.2. Dunbar Hall rounded out the top three finishers in the six-horse affair.
Richard Moreau trains the nine-year-old son of Striking Sahbra-B Joyflo for owner Brad Grant of Milton, Ont. The gelding won for the 40th time in his career while lifting his lifetime earnings over $650,000.
