Double A Mint circled her Preferred rivals to take the Friday night feature and notch her third win this year in the $30,000 top mares class at Woodbine Mohawk Park.

Sent postward as the odds-on favourite from post five, Double A Mint and driver Louis-Philippe Roy trailed the field of six distaffers early on while outside assignee Dont Stop Believin hustled to the front ahead of insider P L Hurricane. Meanwhile, last week's winner Tajmeallover left out to land the third spot.

After a :28 opening quarter, Double A Mint began to advance and picked up cover from Buttermilk Hanover, who applied first-over pressure to the pacesetter at the :58.2 half-mile mark and through three-quarters in 1:26.

Dont Stop Believin shook clear of that challenger into the stretch as P L Hurricane loomed inside, but Double A Mint kicked into action and rallied by late on the far outside to score the victory in 1:53.1 over the 'good' track. Dont Stop Believin settled for the runner-up role, finishing 1-1/4 lengths behind the :26.3 closer, while P L Hurricane held on for third prize ahead of the J.F. Gagne stablemates, Tajmeallover and Outlaw Fireball.

Double A Mint returned $3.20 to win as the 3-5 favourite.

The Bettors Delight-Double Creme mare has earned $63,500 so far during her four-year-old campaign, finishing no worse than fourth in seven starts for trainer Richard Moreau and owner Adriano Sorella of Guelph, Ont.
