‘Survivor Series’ Continues In Ohio
Krusty The Clown and John Jay won final preliminary divisions of the Survivor Series for male $5,000 claimers at Miami Valley Raceway on Tuesday afternoon (Feb. 12), setting themselves up as formidable hopefuls when ten championship finalists chase a $15,000 purse next week.
Driver Cameron McCown, who claimed Krusty The Clown from the first elimination round of the Survivor Series, urged his new possession to a narrow 1:57.1 score over Swift Shark (who was driven by Brett Miller) and Old Man River (Kyle Ater), who at 11 years of age just keeps on rollin’. Also advancing to the final were Ultra Shok N (Chris Page) and Dont Tell Rusty (Josh Sutton).
John Jay (Ater) captured the second split in 1:57, despite starting from the outermost Post 9. The six-year-old $150,000 career winner, racing for the first time for new owner Lases Racing and new trainer Alicia Hanners, topped Winds Of Terror (Sutton) and Ladys Man (Brady Galliers). Rounding out the championship field next week will be the remaining two cheque-getters, Royal Cam Hall (Page) and Total Sin (Dan Noble).
