There's No Stopping Sintra
Sintra is firing all cylinders so far in 2019, and the Preferred foes he faced in Saturday’s $34,000 Preferred at Woodbine Mohawk Park know that very well.
The Dave Menary pupil took charge in the backstretch and never looked back en route to a fourth win in as many tries this season.
Jody Jamieson got away fourth with Sintra, who watched Isitfridayyet and Nocturnal Bluechip take turns on the lead through fractions of :28.1 and :57.2. Sintra was on the move in the second quarter, and he quickly swiped away the lead from Nocturnal Bluechip.
Once he cleared to the top, Sintra sailed past the three-quarter pole in 1:24.3 before using a :28-second closing frame to win by 1-1/4 lengths over Isitfridayyet in 1:52.3. Nocturnal Bluechip rounded out the top three in the seven-horse affair.
The six-year-old son of Mach Three-Dancin Barefoot won for the 22nd time in his career for Menary Racing Inc, Michael Guerriero and Brad Gray. The gelding is closing in on $1.1 million in career earnings.
