Tuesday Training, Racing Cancellations

Woodbine Mohawk Park and The Raceway at Western Fair District have cancelled training for Tuesday (Jan. 29), and now one North American Standardbred track has announced that it has cancelled its Tuesday pari-mutuel program.

Due to deteriorating weather conditions and hazardous driving conditions, officials with Monticello Raceway have announced that they have cancelled the track’s Tuesday card of live racing. Live racing will resume at Monticello on Wednesday (Jan. 30) with a 12:20 p.m. post time.

Frigid conditions force The Meadows Racetrack & Casino to cancel their live racing card for Wednesday, Jan. 30 and qualifying races for Thursday, Jan. 31. The Meadows and its Harmar facility will remain open both days for simulcast viewing and wagering. Live racing at The Meadows resumes Friday, Feb. 1, first post 1:05 p.m.

Officials with Woodbine Mohawk Park would like to inform all horsepeople that the racing surface is not open today (Tuesday, Jan. 29) for training due to the large snowfall. The track and paddock is scheduled to re-open for training on Wednesday morning.

The Raceway at Western Fair District has also cancelled training for Tuesday morning.
