Hennessy, Haining End Year In Style
Driver Mike Hennessy and trainer Harold Haining ended 2018 at Century Downs winning several events on the 10-race card with Hennessy winning five and Haining three.
The pair teamed to win with Wedding Dance ($4.30) in a $7,400 claiming pace, rushing from off the pace to win by a neck as the favourite in 1:58.2. Brandon Campbell steered Haining's other winners on the card as Triple Thick Shake ($16.00) won the $3,400 opener with a 1:59.2 off-the-pace effort and Maid In Alberta ($8.30) recovered 17 lengths to win a $7,200 conditioned pace in 1:57.2.
Hennessy started his five pack with a six-and-a-quarter length victory behind Paradise Hill ($2.70) to win a $7,200 conditioned pace in 1:56.1. He also steered favourites Southwind Jaden ($4.10) and Duke It Out ($3.90) to victories and took the finale behind Cowboy Caper ($8.90).
