Fighting on the point for the whole mile, Lincolnjames maintained control through the wire to take the $11,500 Preferred 2 Pace on Sunday, Dec. 23 at Flamboro Downs.

Driver Anthony MacDonald sent the Harry Poulton trainee towards the front and cleared early leader Imsporty following a :28 opening quarter. Favourite Drunkonaplane, positioned fifth, tipped first over as Lincolnjames paced to the half in :56.4 and advanced to within a length of the lead by three-quarters in 1:24.4.

Through the stretch Drunkonaplane dug into the temposetter, inching towards the front heading to the wire but finishing short of victory. Dark Horse, riding the rail, slid into third.

A seven-year-old gelding by Northwest, Lincolnjames won his seventh race from 38 starts this season and his 41st from 143 overall, earning $396,751. The $6.80 winner competes for Thestable Lincolnjames group.

In the $8,500 Preferred 3 Pace co-feature, Brodys Scrapper launched three wide from second over and swept to a two-and-a-quarter length victory in 1:55.1.

The seven-year-old Mach Three gelding sat sixth as Boomboom Ballykeel paced to a :28 opening quarter and to a :58.2 half. Hidden Potential, first over heading to the half, stalled through the backstretch and forced Brodys Scrapper to tip three wide moving towards three-quarters in 1:27.

Brodys Scrapper circled competition to race a neck off the leader turning into the stretch. The Rachel Andrew trainee strolled through the stretch as Uf Bettors Hanover, off a pocket trip, took second from Boomboom Ballykeel settling for third.

Owned by driver Travis Cullen and Rachel Andrew, Brodys Scrapper won his sixth race from 22 starts this season and his 20th from 107 overall, earning $120,926. He paid $11.10 to win.
