January Mixed Catalogue Available
Racehorses, broodmares, stallion shares and prominent breeding farm and racing stable reductions are on offer next month as Tattersalls presents its annual January Select Mixed Sale at the Meadowlands.
Both the sale catalog and past performances are now available for download at tattersallsredmile.com and on the Equineline Sales Catalog app. The print catalog will be mailed next week.
The sale, held on its customary date of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Jan. 21, includes a broodmare reduction from two-time U.S. “Breeder of the Year” White Birch Farm and a racehorse reduction from Burke Racing, which according to sale manager David Reid, has in the past yielded so many horses that have gone on to continued success for their buyers.
“This sale is a must for both breeders and racehorse owners,” Reid said. “There is a pair of million-dollar producing broodmares, along with young mares that have already delivered current stakes horses.
“Plus, we have 27 stallion shares or breedings to top of the market sires like Cantab Hall, Sweet Lou, Trixton and Southwind Frank.”
The popular 'Magnificent Mares' portion of the sale is highlighted by the O’Brien Award-winning Bettors Delight mare Bettors Up (pictured above), along with the $500,000 earner Seviyorum. The latter is a multiple stakes winner who has been race timed in 1:50.4 and finished a close second to Dan Patch Champion Atlanta in the final of the Kentucky Filly Futurity.
“At the time of cataloging we had 17 horses that won their last starts, including a pair that won impressively just last weekend at the Meadowlands, Bell I No (1:49.1) and Mindtrip (1:50.2),” Reid said.
“We’re now taking supplements, and if anyone would like to join a top group of horses, it’s the place to sell.”
