Spencer Joins TheStable.ca
TheStable.ca has announced that Kelly Spencer will be joining its team.
After 22 years leading the marketing efforts for Grand River Raceway and Elmira Raceway, Spencer has created her own communications agency (True Nature Communications). TheStable.ca will be her principal client where she will serve as the Director Of Business Development.
In this role, Spencer will work alongside TheStable.ca founders Anthony and Amy MacDonald to further develop the award-winning fractional harness racing outfit. The operation has grown quickly since its inception in 2015 and currently boasts 147 horses and 600 clients from 11 countries worldwide.
Clients of TheStable.ca can own as little as one per cent of a horse and pay a fixed monthly fee. The ownership experience is enhanced with bi-weekly training broadcasts delivered via livestream, weekly commentary and update videos, webinars, open houses and social events.
Since its launch, Spencer has worked casually with TheStable.ca, helping define its value for clients. “TheStable.ca is the most exciting initiative currently in play in North American horse racing,” said Spencer.
“I’m itching to dedicate more time to this business because, frankly, I can see the value we bring to our clients, and the potential we offer for the industry at large, as clearly as I can see the nose on my face. And if that sounds over-the-top, it isn’t,” she said. “I see demonstrative proof every day. We’re delivering a unique, ongoing entertainment experience that is accessible, affordable and chock full of engagement. We’re delivering new and lapsed audiences to harness racing, contributing to the bottom line and filling a very real need in the market.”
“Kelly shares our drive and enthusiasm, and fully recognizes that we are reshaping horse racing, and paving the way forward,” said Anthony MacDonald. “Most importantly, she is customer-focused and understands the experience we are delivering to our valued clients. She gets it and we’re incredibly lucky to have her fire and expertise.”
Spencer is a past recipient of the Lloyd Chisholm Award, presented by the Ontario Sires Stakes for meritorious service to the industry, and of the Golden Pen Award, awarded by the Standardbred Media and Marketing Association (SMMA) for outstanding contributions to harness racing publicity and marketing.
Spencer’s role with TheStable.ca officially begins mid-January.
