The Ontario Harness Horse Association met Wednesday night with the members of District 3 in Peterborough, Ontario. The purpose of the meeting

was to update the members on the status of the 2010 contract negotiations and to discuss the Kawartha Downs 2010 race date application.

“We are closer to a deal with Kawartha Downs and we needed to receive feedback from our members on a number of terms and conditions before we proceeded any further,” stated OHHA president Darryl MacArthur. “With the support of our member’s from the local racing community to move forward we are optimistic we can complete the negotiations and return with a contract our members will want to ratify. We appreciate the efforts of our members who invested the time to attend our meeting and voice their opinion.

“I want to acknowledge the efforts of our new District 3 directors Dave Gibson and Per Henriksen. Constituents from Wednesday night’s meeting made it very clear that Dave and Per have their full confidence and support.”
