Hoosier Park Giving With Holiday Spirit
Those who are looking for a unique way to give back over the holidays can participate in the annual $10,000 Charity Slot Tournament or the Gift & Game program this December.
Guests have two more chances to play in Harrah’s Hoosier Park’s $10,000 Charity Slot Tournament, held on Sunday, December 9 and Sunday, December 16. Tournament registration begins at 9 a.m. each day at the Total Rewards center, with 25 tournament sessions taking place between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. The top scorer of each session will receive $50 in free slot play. The top scorer of the day will win $1,000 in free slot play, and the second top scorer will win $500.
Guests may participate with a donation of an unwrapped children’s toy, valued at $10 or more, or a minimum cash donation of $10. Guests may play in the tournament more than once, and all donations are sent directly to local children’s charitable organizations and toy drives, including Operation Love, Alternatives, Saint Vincent DePaul, The Salvation Army and Madison County Community Health Center.
Guests may also participate in Gift & Game, held every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday in December. Guests wishing to make a $10 donation will be awarded $10 in free slot play as a thank you for the contribution. Donations made through Gift & Game will benefit the Leadership Academy of Madison County’s (LAMC) Season of Giving Gift Fair, and various local non-profits.
The Season of Giving GiftFair is a project developed by the LAMC with a goal of bringing various organizations to one community exhibition. The annual fair gives shoppers a choice of charitable holiday gifts to honor family and friends while supporting local charities and non-profit organizations in a festive atmosphere. Harrah’s Hoosier Park’s fundraising match will directly benefit the organizations that participated in the gift fair.
Members of the Leadership Academy of Madison County receive a cheque in the amount of $7,500 from Hoosier Park Racing & Casino for the Season of Giving Gift Fair partial match in 2018.
“Year after year, our guests demonstrate sincere generosity over the holiday season by making donations to our charitable programs,” said Becky Young, vice president of marketing at Harrah’s Hoosier Park. “Last year we raised more than $12,000 for local charities, and collected 1,099 toys to brighten the holidays for so many children. This is what the holiday season is all about, and we want our guests to know how grateful we are for their contributions.”
