Woodmere Ideal Art Paints Masterpiece
After having been bet down to 65 cents on the dollar on Sunday (Nov. 25), Woodmere Ideal Art ($3.30) went straight to the top from Post 2, cut all the fractions (:28.4, :59.3, 1:29.2), and posted a one and a half-length win in 1:59 during Truro Raceway’s $1,675 Winners-Over Pace.
Robert Laffin was at Woodmere Ideal Art’s lines for Sifroi Melanson, who conditions the three-year-old Articulator gelding for the Ultimate Stable, of Greater Lakeburn, New Brunswick.
After having started from Post 1, the Ernie Laffin-driven Preceptor took a pocket ride through the fractions and finished second. Good Friday Three, who hosted Todd Trites in the sulky, came out from third along the rail to finish third, more than two lengths in arrears to the victor.
Distinctiv Rusty (who was driven by Dale Spence) and Catch Twenty Two (Darren Crowe) earned the fourth and fifth-place cheques, respectively.
