Hobby Joins EquiLottery
EquiLottery Games has announced the hiring of Kenleigh Hobby to oversee operations in Kentucky.
Hobby will operate out of the EquiLottery Games Louisville office. His main focus will be on the successful implementation of the trial run for Kentucky’s Win Place Show, a lottery game based on live horse racing that has been developed by the company. This includes day-to-day operations of the pilot, planning and executing consumer marketing strategies, and interfacing daily with technology partners to ensure a seamless gameplay experience for players.
“Kenleigh is the perfect fit for our company as we work towards our vision to build a new ‘live sports’ category in lottery,” said EquiLottery Games CEO Brad Cummings. “His background is diverse across many industries including horse racing but what really jumps off the page with Kenleigh is his whatever-it-takes approach to business fostered from the several startups he’s developed over the years. His unique skill set and background is exactly what we need to ensure we maximize our upcoming Win Place Show trial.”
Hobby is best known in the horse racing industry as the founder of EquiSight, the first company to develop jockeycams to wear during workouts and live races. The first-of-its-kind approach to enjoying a horse race attracted millions of views on YouTube and gave EquiSight international notoriety as an innovative company in the horse racing industry. Hobby is also a graduate of the University of Arizona Racetrack Industry Program, a highly respected business school responsible for developing hundreds of leaders within the U.S. and international horse racing industries.
“I’m very excited to be joining the team at EquiLottery Games,” said Hobby. “I’ve been closely following their progress since they first hit the scene in 2014 and am impressed with the expanding possibilities for state lotteries and other mainstream professional sports. This is a rising company in the gaming space and I look forward to becoming a foundational piece of its success.”
EquiLottery Games is offering its flagship game, Win Place Show, through the Kentucky Lottery on a trial basis beginning March 24, 2019. A three number lottery game based on the results of live horse racing, this game will be offered at 45 locations in Kentucky over a span of 90 days. Other games are also being developed by EquiLottery Games including games based on auto racing, baseball, basketball, football, golf, and hockey.
