Ohio Racetracks Submit VLT Applications

Yesterday was the deadline for racetracks in Ohio to submit applications to add VLTs to their operations. All seven of the state's racetracks submitted those applications, but only two of the tracks paid the first $13 million licensing fee

.

As an article on dispatchpolitics.com explains, the two tracks that submitted the licensing fee were Raceway Park and Northfield Park.

According to C. David Paragas, an attorney for the tracks, the other tracks still intend to make their initial payments for the $65 million licenses.

"We're off to a very shaky start with this thing," state rep. Ron Amstutz, the top minority member of the House Finance Committee, was quoted as saying.
