Arbutus Stakes Saturday At Fraser
The field has been drawn for the Standardbred Canada and British Columbia Standardbred Association-sponsored Arbutus Stakes, which will head postward as Race 10 on Fraser Downs' Saturday, September 19 live card
of racing.
A field of eight fillies will be in search of the lion's share of the $16,400 purse. The Arbutus Stakes holds an estimated post time of 10:12 p.m.
The Arbutus Stakes is for three-year-old pacing fillies which are Canadian owned or sired.
An entry will be contesting the event, as Id Rather Be Lucky (PP5, C. Warrington, Jr.) and Angelic Star (PP7, S. Masse) will be racing as Head No. 1 and 1A in the wagering, respectively.
The entry has been installed as the 9-5 morning line favourite.
Coming in a close second in the early line is Legal Suspensory (PP3, D. Howald), which will race with Head No. 4.
Two of the aforementioned three fillies last raced in qualifiers.
On September 11, Angelic Star went wire to wire in a Fraser Downs qualifier, romping by 11 lengths in 1:55.3. Legal Suspensory put in a gate-to-wire Fraser qualifier in 1:57 on September 12.
Id Rather Be Lucky last raced on September 12 at Fraser in a non-winners of three races event where she finished third by open lengths and paced in 1:58.
