Ramblinglily Repeats At Truro
Sent the 1-5 favourite, Ramblinglily swept to the lead on the second circuit and cruised to a 1:56.3 victory in the $1,675 Winners-Over Pace at Truro Raceway on Sunday, Nov. 4.
Driver Todd Trites placed the Allan Jones trainee third to a :28 opening quarter set by Stature Seelster. Past a :57.3 half, Trites edged the favourite first over heading towards the backstretch and quickly cleared control moving to a 1:27 third quarter. Perceptor, left first over, moved into second heading into the stretch and chased Ramblinglily to the wire one-and-a-quarter lengths behind in second. Rusty Riley, off a pocket trip, took third.
An eight-year-old mare by Articulator, Ramblinglily won her eighth race in 23 starts this season and her 64th in 135 overall, earning $187,565. The $2.40 winner is a homebred for owners Allan Jones and Normand Leger.
Trainer Darren Crowe sent three winners on the eight-race card at Truro. He won with Silverhill King, pacing a first-over trip to win a $1,200 pace by a nose in 2:02, Catch Twenty Two, swinging off cover to win a $1,400 pace by one-and-three-quarter lengths in 1:59.3, and with Montreal Phil, going wire to wire to take a $1,300 pace in 1:58.2.
