Casino Classic Cruises At Flamboro
Sitting fifth, Casino Classic tipped onto cover second over nearing the final turn and surged to the front heading for the wire when winning the $10,500 Fillies and Mares Preferred 2 Handicap Pace on Saturday, Nov. 3 at Flamboro Downs.
Hp Sissy took the lead heading to a :28 opening quarter with Outlaw Imahotvixen taking the pocket ahead of Traffic Jam in third. Past a :57 half, Traffic Jam edged first over and advanced towards the leader moving to the backstretch.
Traffic Jam stuck a nose in front passing three-quarters in 1:25.3 as driver Scott Coulter placed Casino Classic second over and two lengths from the lead. Casino Classic then ranged off cover moving towards the stretch and opened a two-and-three-quarter length margin on second-place finisher Twenty Three Red closing from third over. Traffic Jam chased in third.
A four-year-old mare by Classic Card Shark out of the Artiscape mare Art Alliance, Casino Classic won her seventh race in 30 starts this season and her 16th in 59 overall, earning $117,579. The $7.40 winner is trained by Robert Manders for owners Richard and Keith Manders.
