Stormont Kate went to the front and didn’t look back en route to an impressive victory in Thursday’s $11,500 Preferred 2 & 3 Handicap for trotters at Flamboro Downs.

Stormont Kate powered to the lead from Post 6 and cut fractions of :28.3, :58.4 and 1:27.4 for owner/trainer/driver Bruce Richardson, and she kicked home in :30.2 to win by a neck over Nebraska Jack in 1:58.1. Race favourite Absolut Seelster took home third prize.

Sent off at odds of 9-2, the seven-year-old daughter of Kadabra-Princess Stormont won for the third time in her last four assignments. She owns a 5-0-2 record from 16 trips to the track this year. The 32-time winner has banked more than $320,000 to date.
