Kindergarten Will Be In Session Friday
This Friday (Oct. 19) the Meadowlands Racetrack will play host to the penultimate preliminary leg of the popular Kindergarten Classic series, which will field eight $10,000 divisions of juvenile trotters and pacers among the 10-dash card.
The sixth and last leg will be raced on Friday, October 26 at the Meadowlands, followed a week later by the $150,000 finals for all divisions (on Saturday, November 3).
This week's races are compelling, as several talented late bloomers that have been entered are trying to accumulate enough points to gain entrance to the finals.
Tony Alagna will be sending out seven starters in Friday’s Kindergarten dashes – five in the colt pace, led by a pair of Captaintreacherous colts in Odds On Boca Raton and Waterway, who are coming from Grand Circuit events at the recently concluded Red Mile speed fest.
Nancy Johansson will field five juveniles, featured by a precocious pair of pacing fillies she recently unveiled in Lexington with ‘1:52-ish’ winning efforts in late closers. Both Sweet Diamond and Caviart Darlin will be making last minute bids for the Kindergarten final.
The first of the evening’s 10 races will head behind the starter at 7:15 p.m.
