‘Jack’ Jogs In London Preferred
Colin Kelly put the pedal down early with Nebraska Jack in Friday’s $9,000 Preferred 3 for trotters at The Raceway at Western Fair District, and the gelding responded by turning in a front-stepping score in the added distance affair.
Trotting 1-1/16 miles, Nebraska Jack carved out fractions of :28.4, 1:00.2 and 1:31.1 before going on to stop the teletimer in 2:07.4. The trotter kicked away to win by 2-3/4 lengths over Fluff Me Up, with third prize going to Irish Thunder.
Steve Bossence trains the five-year-old son of Cantab Hall-Enjoy N My Lady for Stable Twenty Three Inc of Etobicoke, Ont. The victory was the fifth of the season and the 12th to date for the career winner of $116,649.
