Fast N Victorious Tops At Red Shores
Kent and Owen Livingston's Fast N Victorious ($8.70) lived up to his name on the Thanksgiving afternoon (Oct. 8) card at Red Shores at Summerside Raceway, posting a pillar-to-post, 1:57.1 win in the $2,200 top-class pacing event.
The five-year-old Art Major gelding was sent to the fore by Adam Merner from post three, and the pair had no trouble clearing White Fish Flash (Norris Rogers) through a :28.3 first quarter before rating middle splits of :57.4 and 1:26.3. Fast N Victorious began to edge away through the final turn, and ultimately coasted home to prevail by 2-3/4 lengths while never challenged. White Fish Flash held second by a neck over 6-5 favourite Slide Guitar (David Dowling).
Fast N Victorious, who arrived on Prince Edward Island in June, has since compiled three wins in eight starts for trainer Stephen Gass. For Merner, the win capped a driving hat trick on the 12-race card. David Dowling also accounted for three driving wins on the afternoon.
