Foiled Again has been in the industry news as of late, as it has been announced that he will be at Ohio’s Delaware County Fair this week and in Ontario in December. Although, in case you missed it, you should be aware that harness racing’s richest horse notched win No. 103 this past weekend.

The 14-year-old Dragon Again gelding made his way to Freehold Raceway this past Saturday (Sept. 15) for the Open Space Pace, which was contested for a purse of $6,000.

With George Brennan in the sulky for trainer Ron Burke, Foiled Again started from Post 5 and was third down to the quarter pole, which had been clicked off in :27.3 by the Harry Landy-driven Newbie.

Brennan called on the career winner of $7.6 million in purses in the second quarter, and the duo was out and racing in third as Newbie spun off the opening half in :57.

Foiled Again continued his grind up to the lead in the third quarter, as he was just a quarter-length back on the outside as Newbie completed three quarters in 1:25.

Foiled Again was money in the final quarter, as he came home in :28.4, which was good enough to record a one and three-quarter-length victory in 1:53.4.

Foiled Again is owned by Burke Racing Stable LLC (of Fredericktown, PA), Weaver Bruscemi LLC (Canonsburg, PA) and JJK Stables LLC (Fort Lauderdale, FL).

Freehold Raceway was the scene of Foiled Again’s first-ever pari-mutuel start back in 2006, as he recorded a half-length victory in 2:01 on October 12 of that year.

Foiled Again has won his last three races. He recorded a two-length win in 1:56.2 at Ohio’s Greenville Fair on August 23, and followed up that effort with a one and a quarter-length victory in 1:55.4 at Windsor in Maine.
