Johnny Conroy Memorial To Keep Coming
Last second heroics by Keep Coming earned him a come-from-behind victory in Friday’s $4,000 Johnny Conroy Memorial at Truro Raceway.
With David Dowling in tow, Keep Coming got away next-to-last in the seven-horse affair, while Do Over Hanover forged to the front and threw down panels of :26.4, :56.1 and 1:25.
Despite the taxing fractions, Do Over Hanover put up a good fight right to the finish. Keep Coming, however, was just too good in the closing strides. After riding cover going to the half and then making a three-wide move going to the three-quarter pole, Keep Coming kicked home in :29.4 to win by a neck over Do Over Hanover in 1:55.1. Sucrose Hanover was a well-beaten third.
Trainer Brian Andrew co-owns the five-year-old son of Mystery Chase-Keystone Divine with William Andrew of Calgary, AB. It was the sixth win of the season – and the 16th to date – for the career winner of $78,733.
