Organizers have announced that tickets for the PEI Sports Hall of Fame induction ceremonies, to be held Friday, September 25 at the Charlottetown Driving Park, are now available for purchase

This year’s ceremonies are expected to generate big crowd, as some of the most popular and well-known faces in Island sport enter the Hall.

The five inductees are Mike MacDonald (harness racing, five-time winner of the Gold Cup & Saucer), Orin Carver (hockey), Vince Mulligan (coach and builder, most notably at UPEI), Walter 'Windy' LePage (all-around athlete) and George 'Dandy' Wood (baseball star from the 19th century).

The ceremonies are sponsored by the PEI Mutual Insurance Company, and the master of ceremonies for the evening will be fellow Hall of Famer Paul H. Schurman.

Tickets ($20 each) are available from the Sport PEI offices located in the Royalty Centre, 40 Enman Crescent, or from Harness Racing PEI, at 14 Exhibition Drive. Cash or cheques only, made payable to the PEI Sports Hall of Fame.

The evening will begin at 6.30 p.m. with a meal, followed by the ceremonies and the unveiling of the official portraits, drawn by Island artist Wayne Wright. Dress code is smart/casual.
