Buck I St Pat Takes Conway Hall

Using her patented closing kick to perfection for driver Tim Tetrick, Buck I St Pat had no problem disposing of six female foes en route to winning Monday’s $139,500

Conway Hall at Vernon Downs.

Buck I St Pat stormed home to stop the clock in a track record clocking of 1:54, much to the delight of an army of backers that sent her off as the 1-5 choice. Lavec Dream took home the runner-up award and Autumn Escapade took home the show dough.

The 1:54 performance knocked two-fifths of a second off the former track standard for older trotting mares set by Mystical Sunshine in 2006.

It was the second consecutive win for the six-year-old daughter of Jailhouse Jesse-Name It Something, who hangs her harness bag in the barn of trainer Ronnie Burke. She improved her 2009 record to 7-1-2 in 13 tries, and pushed her lifetime bankroll to $1,324,350 for the partnership of Howard Taylor, Edwin Gold, Abraham Basen and Ronald Fuller.

Four divisions of the NYSS for three-year-old trotting fillies went postward on the undercard, with more than $200,000 in purse money doled out. The winners were Brandnewgirlfriend (1:56.3), Michelles Way (1:56.1), Winbak Roberta (1:56.4) and Gift Card (1:56.2).
