Adore Him All The Way At Clinton
Odds-on favourite Adore Him ($3.40) made easy work of his seven foes on Sunday afternoon (Aug. 19) at Clinton Raceway, powering to a 4-3/4 length win in the day's featured $6,500 Preferred 3 Pace.
Ryan Holliday sent the six-year-old Shadow Play gelding to the front from post 6, clearing Sheldonthepsychic (travis Henry) en route to a :28.3 first quarter. After rating a :30 breather to the midway stage, Adore Him was forced to quicken by the first-over challenge of Fern Hill Breeze (Greg Dustin), who emerged from third with just over a circuit to go. Fern Hill Breeze could only muster mild pressure to three-quarters in 1:27.2 before Adore Him found another gear and sprinted off at will for a 1:56.1 score.
Goldstar Badlands (Lorne House) rallied off second-over cover to take second narrowly over Sheldonthepsychic, who could only muster futile chase from the pocket.

Today's trackside fundraiser, held by the Clinton Optimist Club for the Hunter Costello Memorial FUNdation, was able to raise over $3,000 to help build an accessible playground in neighbouring Goderich, Ont. A great crowd of families was on hand to enjoy the annual Kids Day festivities, and the handle on the 10-race card was just shy of $30,000.
Next Sunday's (August 26) All Memorial race card still has a few openings left for those interested in sponsoring in memory of a loved one passed. For a $50 commitment, fans can have a named race in the program, a write up in the program, and a commemorative iron Clinton Raceway logo with attached engraved plaque will be presented in the winner's circle. For those interested, please contact Jessica Carnochan at [email protected] or by phone 519-955-6820.
The Stratford Warriors will be hosting the trackside fundraiser and it will be the final Trackside Local Market of the season, featuring local, handmade wares. Little ones can enjoy the end of year, back-to-school Splash Bash from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Splash Pad. August's Student Sunday Contest also wraps up with a back-to-school $1,000 grand prize being awarded to one lucky college or university student. Live race post time is 1:30 p.m.
